9" GAS-FIRED BILLET HEATING PLANT FOR BRASS AND BRASS ALLOYS - 22 TON/H – DATA MANAGER

Spring 2020: COIM has been performing the positive Commissioning of two brand new gas-fired billet heaters for brass and special brass alloys for Poongsan (South Korea).
The billet heating plant was installed in Ulsan workshop, included in Poongsan’s new extrusion line; the installation & start up were arranged in 6 weeks, while fine-tuning will need some weeks more according to the standard requirements of the new press.
The plant is for 9” diameter billets and able to heat 22 ton/h up to the required extrusion temperature.
Due to the very low thermal conductivity of some special alloys, the furnaces were custom designed in order to allow perfect “skin to core” homogeneity of the heated billet.
The installation is completed by one Data Manager Software, designed at the state of art by COIM software department to allow the perfect check and control of temperature, alarms and tracking of billet and orders.
Finally, high added value is given by the connection to IBA system for collection of data and alarms, to allow forecast and optimized maintenance schedules.
